DESCRIPTION:We describe some known results and open questions regarding pr
operties of steady solutions of the two-dimensional incompressible Euler e
quations\, as well as properties of nearby trajectories. Specifically\, we
focus on whether steady states can be isolated\, whether\, for solutions
starting nearby steady states\, recurrence can occur or whether singularit
ies must form at long times\, and finally some results on the infinite-tim
e limit near and far from equilibrium.
