DESCRIPTION:It's well-known that D-branes on a type IIB string theory comp
actified onan algebraic variety X (usually a Calabi-Yau variety) are class
ified by the(bounded) derived category D(X) of coherent sheaves on X. &nbs
p\;Thus dualitiesbetween string theories on two varieties X and Y are mani
 fested byequivalences D(X) &cong\; D(Y). &nbsp\;For orientifold string the
ories with non-trivialB-field\, the situation is more complicated\, and so
metimes D(X) has to be replacedby D(X\, &alpha\;)\, where &alpha\; is a no
ntrivial class in the Brauer group. &nbsp\;We discusscases where string th
eory dualities are reflected in equivalences ofderived equivalences of cat
egories of twisted coherent sheaves\,as well as interesting possible purel
y algebraic generalizations.\nThis is based in part on joint work with Cha
rles Doran\, Andreas Malmendier and Stefan Mendez-Diez\, andwith Niranjan
 Ramachandran.
