SUMMARY:Multizeta values and associators in genus zero and one - Leila Sch

DESCRIPTION:The Drinfeld associator &Phi\;KZ&nbsp\;is well-known to anyone
who studies multiple polylogs and multizeta values. However\, the geometr
ic idea that &Phi\;KZ&nbsp\;is really in genus zero\, and that associators
can also be constructed in higher genus\, is less familiar. In the first
part of this talk\, we will show the construction of the elliptic associat
or by Enriquez\, and underline its properties in analogy to the well-known
properties of &Phi\;KZ. In the second part\, we will give a theorem showi
ng that what is going here is much more than a mere analogy: in fact the e
lliptic associator can be constructed directly from the Drinfeld associato
r\, and its main properties can then be derived directly from those of &Ph
 i\;KZ.
