DESCRIPTION:A two-component BEC with repulsive intra- and inter-species in
teraction experiences a mixing/demixing phase transition. Close to the tra
nsition line\, the degree of freedom associated to the relative motion of
the two components can be described as an integrable ferromagnetic spin sy
stem. I will present several instances in which this feature makes it poss
ible to get analytical and semi-analytical insight in the dynamics of the
system\, and discuss related experimental studies.
