SUMMARY:The Langlands Program as Electric-Magnetic Duality III - David Ben
 -Zvi (University of Texas at Austin)

DESCRIPTION:In these talks we will explore a perspective on the Langlands
 program inspired by electric-magnetic duality in supersymmetric gauge theo
 ry. This perspective combines the interpretation of the geometric Langland
 s program as a duality of 4d topological quantum field theories discovered
  by Kapustin and Witten\, and the arithmetic topology dictionary between n
 umber fields and 3-manifolds associated with Mazur\, Morishita\, Kapranov\
 , Reznikov and Kim. Our ultimate aim is to see how this perspective elucid
 ates the classical relation between L-functions and period integrals\, fol
 lowing joint work with Yiannis Sakellaridis and Akshay Venkatesh.&nbsp\;
