 \nQuantum computing is an emerging new technology which promises to comple
 tely change computing as we know it. In particular\, the advent of quantum
  computers poses a serious threat to cybersecurity. Encryption methods hai
 led as ‘unbreakable’ by classical computers can be cracked by quantum 
 computers in a matter of hours. In this talk\, we will discuss the basics 
 of quantum computing and how it could be used to attack common encryption 
 algorithms. We also introduce and evaluate the top candidates to replace o
 ur current encryption methods for a post-quantum era.\n\nSpeakers\n\nLeadi
 ng this presentation is Data Reply’s Quantum Computing Consultant Anuj D
 oshi\, an Oxford alumnus who has been working on quantum computing applica
 tions for over a year\, specializing in quantum circuit architectures in m
 achine learning. Joining him is recent Cambridge graduate Vasundhara Prasa
 d\, who has previously worked on financial uses of gate-based quantum comp
 uting and is now working on other quantum computing applications.\n\nAbout
