DESCRIPTION:Document networks have the characteristic that a document \nno
 de\, e.g. a webpage or an article\, carries meaningful content. \nProperti
es of document networks are not only affected by topological \nconnectivit
y between nodes\, but are also strongly influenced by the \nsemantic relat
ion between the content of the nodes. We observed that \ndocument networks
have a large number of triangles and a high value \nclustering coefficient
.\nAlso there is a strong correlation between the probability of \nformati
on of a triangle and the content similarity among the three \nnodes involv
ed. We propose the degree-similarity product (DSP) \nmodel\, which well re
produces these properties. The model achieves \nthis by using a preferenti
al attachment mechanism that favours the \nlinkage between nodes that are
both popular and similar.\nThis work is a step forward towards a better un
derstanding of the \nstructure and evolution of document networks.\n\nPape
