DESCRIPTION:Our speaker next week is *Professor Sian Dutton*\, a Cambridge
physicist and solid-state chemist from the Maxwell centre. Her group aims
to prepare and characterize functional materials to explore energy applic
ations such as electrodes\, magnetocalorics and hybrid photovoltaics.\n\nS
he is also the director of the Winton Programme for the Physics of Sustain
ability\, which aims to develop innovative technologies required for futur
e renewable energy systems. \n\nThis talk will focus on the magnetic frust
ration seen in lanthanum oxides and how these could be tuned into easy-to-
handle alternatives to liquid Helium cooling methods.\n\nIf interested\, j
oin us for a *drinks reception at 18:00* in the department of Chemistry's
Wolfson lecture theatre before an 18:15 start. We hope to see you there!\n
