DESCRIPTION:Despite appearances to the contrary\, people from Oxford tend 
 to have physiology that is reasonably similar to that of the global popula
 tion.  This talk will describe machine learning methods constructed in col
 laboration with Oxford University Hospitals for developing applications ba
 sed on wearables and other healthcare data\, with examples of systems that
  are being translated into the NHS and other healthcare systems.\n\nBio: D
 avid Clifton holds the GSK / Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair i
 n Clinical Machine Learning and an NIHR Research Professorship\, at the Ot
 her Place\, despite being born and raised in Cambridgeshire.  He runs the 
 Computational Health Informatics Lab\, (unofficial tagline: "We do some th
 ings reasonably well")\, within the Department of Engineering Science\, an
 d where his work focuses on (non-imaging) ML for healthcare.
