DESCRIPTION:We all love a bit of Complex Analysis\, and to me this is exem
 plified in the Unified Transform (UT) method (also known as the Fokas meth
 od). This talk will introduce this method\, in application to wave scatter
 ing by a finite plate\, as is typically solved via the Wiener-Hopf (WH) eq
 uation. The relationship between the UT and WH methods will be discussed a
 longside examples of where the UT can be applied where WH may struggle to 
 provide rapid and accurately computed solutions.\nThis presentation will i
 nclude work undertaken by myself and collaborators Shiza Naqvi\, Matthew C
 olbrook\, and Matthew Priddin.
