DESCRIPTION:This presentation is adapted from one given at the Cisco Green
  Research Summit in 2008. The presentation will describe the (no longer av
 ailable) P.A. Semi PA6T-1682M dual-core PowerPC system-on-chip with partic
 ular emphasis on the power management features. The presentation also disc
 usses some open problems at the system level\, caused by the big differenc
 e between the power consumption seen in a running system and the worst cas
 e 'thermal virus' power consumption. In addition I will provide some refle
 ctions on the design of the part and planning in an engineering focused st
 artup.\n
