DESCRIPTION:*Abstract:*\nThe speaker will discuss what knowledge is and th
 en look at western science as another system of knowledge. Western science
  will be contrasted with Buddha Dhamma which is on renunciation of knowled
 ge as well.   \n\nDr. Nalin de Silva is a theoretical Cosmologist. He got 
 his PhD from Sussex University in 1970\, completing it within one and half
  years\, which is still an unbroken record at the University. His thesis w
 as on gravitational lenses and retrograde motion in General Relativity. La
 ter in Sri Lanka\, he also worked on epistemology and philosophy of scienc
 e. He has published numerous books and articles introducing new concepts o
 n how different systems of knowledge are related to cultures\, discussing 
 the difference between Dhamma and knowledge systems.\n\nThe event programm
