DESCRIPTION:*Sleep and Dementia*\n\nSleep\, as an ancient demeanour taking
up one-third of our life\, is not a uniform state of our brain\, unlike w
ake. It consists of a multitude of stages\, each with unique brain activit
y patterns\, evolved to optimize adaptation to complex learning tasks whil
e being central to our health. Nonetheless\, sleep gradually deteriorates
with age\, becoming more fragmented and less restorative. In this talk\, r
esearchers will attempt to explain how ageing affect sleep and explore whe
ther age-dependent cognitive and health deterioration could be driven by t
he gradual sleep disruptions we experience over the years. They will also
share what is known about the link between sleep and neurodegenerative dis
eases and discuss new cutting-edge sleep therapies.\n\nTo attend this talk
