DESCRIPTION:Sepsis is a leading cause of hospital mortality and long-term
morbidity among survivors. This talk will discuss research\, guidelines\,
and large-scale quality improvements to advance sepsis care and outcomes\,
including a Michigan state-wide quality improvement initiative involving
69 hospitals. One nagging concern of sepsis quality improvement initiative
s is that they may drive up antimicrobial use across the board\, including
to patients who turn out to have non-infectious or non-bacterial causes f
or sepsis. This talk will cover research examining the impact of sepsis ca
re on antimicrobial stewardship.\n\nRegister at: https://www.thisinstitute
