 experiences in the computer assisted modeling of complex systems. I will s
 tart with recurrent Runge-Kutta ResNets\, neural ODEs and PDEs in the 1990
 s\, and come to gauge invariant data mining\, emergent spaces\, data-drive
 n well-posedness and "learning what to learn" today.
