DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will discuss known results about the LRT and TR
 T of symmetric tensor fields in two dimension\, including explicit reconst
 ruction\, null space and\, on the disk\, the singular value decomposition.
 \nI will outline some applications that are currently under investigation 
 with members of the RNT programme including electron and neutron strain to
 mography and a special case of bistatic synthetic apperture radar with ani
 sotropic scatterers.
