SUMMARY:Ice accretion on aircraft - Graeme Leese\, Department of Applied M
 athematics and Theoretical Physics

DESCRIPTION:As aircraft fly through clouds in ambient temperatures below f
reezing ice builds up on the airframe with potentially very important resu
lts. In this talk I present one model for this complex multi-phase flow pr
oblem and discuss the physical implications of this model and its limitati
ons. I will also show the current state of numerical prediction of ice gro
wth using this model\, including the new methods I am developing.
