DESCRIPTION:We will discuss the construction of new examples of irreducibl
 e\, hyperfinite subfactors with infinite representation theory and ``inter
 esting'' Jones indices. This involves commuting squares\, planar algebras 
 and a few tricks that allow us to avoid solving large systems of linear eq
 uations to compute standard invariants (joint work with Julio Caceres). If
  there is time\, we will explain an invariant for subfactors not captured 
 by its planar algebra and show some applications.
