DESCRIPTION:Kruskal was the first to propose the study of the dynamics of 
 the poles of the soliton solutions of the KdV equation to understand the n
 ature of their interaction. Initial work by Thickstun and Airault\, McKean
  & Moser led to developments in very different directions and the birth of
  a new area of study in integrability. I will discuss a few new developmen
 ts on the pole dynamics for both the KdV and the NLS equation.&nbsp\;
