DESCRIPTION:Dr Weir will discuss the latest findings from a study of nearl
 y four million children in the United Kingdom using data from the National
  Pupil Database. It investigates whether students with SEN are more likely
  to become disengaged with the educational system during adolescence (spec
 ifically whether they are more likely to become NEET\, 'Not in Employment\
 , Education\, or Training'). The study also evaluates the efficacy of the 
 ‘Raising the Minimum Participation Age’ Policy in the United Kingdom a
 nd identifies core demographic and social factors that may relate to educa
 tional disengagement for students with SEN.
