SUMMARY:Continuum models of strongly interacting Brownian particles - Mari
 a Bruna (University of Cambridge)
DTSTART:20230914T081500Z

UID:TALK203386@talks.cam.ac.uk
DESCRIPTION:I will discuss many-particle systems with strong interactions.
These models are motivated by studying systems in biology or industrial a
pplications with many interacting components\, where it is crucial to acco
unt for the finite size of particles. I will explain how these interaction
s can be included in the models and different methods to derive continuum
PDE descriptions. In the second part of the talk\, I will show how these m
ethods can be used to model active matter or self-propelled particles such
  as bacteria or ants.
