DESCRIPTION:In the first part\, I review progress over the past decade and
more recent one in computing the exact quantum entropy of certain supersy
mmetric black holes including all perturbative and non-perturbative correc
tions to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy in precise agreement with integral
microscopic degeneracies.&nbsp\;\nThe agreement requires a nontrivial int
erplay between topics in number theory such the Rademacher expansion and K
loosterman sums and topics field theory such as localization in supergravi
ty and Chern-Simons theory.\nIn the second part\, I describe recent result
s in defining&nbsp\; classical and quantum entanglement entropy in string
theory using the orbifold method and discuss the physical motivations from
  holography and black hole physics.
