DESCRIPTION:*Abstract*\n\nEnergy systems are highly complex. State determi
 nation and detection of anomalies\, faults or even attacks are only possib
 le to a limited extent with traditional approaches. This talk will investi
 gate how such systems can be planned and operated in the future in the are
 a of conflict between high automation and trust by human operators.\n\n*Bi
 o*\n\nSebastian Lehnhoff is a Full Professor of Energy Informatics at the 
 University of Oldenburg. He received his doctorate at the TU Dortmund Univ
 ersity in 2009. Prof. Lehnhoff is chairman of the board of the OFFIS Insti
 tute for Information Technology and speaker of its Energy R&D division. He
  is a board member of the section „Energy Informatics“ within the Germ
 an Informatics Society (GI) as well as an active member of numerous commit
 tees and working groups focusing on ICT in future Smart Grids. In 2022 he 
 was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Volkswagen Foundation (Volks
 wagenStiftung). He is the CTO of openKONSEQUENZ e.G. – a registered coop
 erative industry association for the development of modular Open-Source SC
 ADA/EMS. He serves as Chairman of the Executive Board of the Energy Resear
 ch Centre of Lower Saxony (EFZN) as well as an Executive Committee Member 
 of the ACM Special Interest Group on Energy Systems and Informatics (SIGEn
 ergy). Prof. Lehnhoff is a member of the German Academy of Science and Eng
 ineering (acatech) as well as a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy o
 f Sciences and Humanities (BBAW).
