DESCRIPTION:This first meeting of the academic year will centre around a d
 e-brief of the Political Ecology Network (POLLEN) conference that took pla
 ce in late September 2020. Held online for the first time\, POLLEN 2020 sa
 w a record-breaking number of registered delegates from all around the wor
 ld. Themes included\, but were not limited to\, knowledge production\, con
 servation governance\, food security\, (de)coloniality and the methodologi
 cal and practical challenges of value-plurality in research\, policy and m
 anagement. This will be a chance for us to discuss any of the conference t
 hemes as well as to fill each other in on particular sessions\, including 
 those who did not attend the conference. This opening session will also be
  an opportunity for new members to introduce themselves and their research
  interests\, as well as for ongoing members to share updates from the summ
 er vacation and plans for the incoming term and year. All welcome!
