DESCRIPTION:Years of important research has revealed that cells heavily in
vest in regulating their size. Nevertheless\, it has remained unclear why
accurate size control is so important. \nOur recent study using hematopoie
tic stem cells (HSCs) in vivo indicates that cellular enlargement is causa
lly associated with aging. I present an overview of these findings and the
ir implications. Furthermore\, I present a broad literature analysis to ev
aluate the potential of cellular enlargement as a new aging hallmark and I
highlight interesting work showing a correlation between cell size and ag
e-related diseases. Taken together\, I will present mounting evidence link
ing cellular enlargement to aging and age-related diseases. \n
