DESCRIPTION:On Monday 11 March\, the Cambridge Military History Working Gr
 oup will meet for a seminar in the Engelsberg Room (2nd floor of the Centr
 e for Geopolitics\, Fitzwilliam House) at 4pm. \n\nDr Daniel Cowling\, a h
 istorian from the National Army Museum\, will give a paper entitled *'Disc
 rediting the good name of Britain': the British occupation of Germany\, 19
 45-49\, and perceptions of national decline* and Cherish Watton (Universit
 y of Cambridge) will speak on *'War writing with scissors: scrapbooking du
 ring the two world wars'*.\n\nBesides the two 20-minute papers\, the event
  will include a Q&A period and a reception with wine and non-alcoholic alt

 ––––\n\nThe Military History Working Group brings together Cambrid
 ge-based scholars working on the history of war and the military to discus
 s each other’s work and approaches. Convened by Eamonn O’Keeffe\, the 
 National Army Museum Junior Research Fellow at Queens’ College\, it is e
 cumenical in terms of chronology\, discipline\, and scope.\n\nThe group en
 courages papers and participation from students\, early career researchers
 \, and faculty members. Members of the public are also welcome\; please wr
