DESCRIPTION:Seeking a common generalization of Szemeredi's Theorem on arit
 hmetic progressions in a set of integers with positive density and Hindman
 's Theorem on a monochromatic finite sumsets in any finite coloring of the
  integers\, Erdos formulated several questions and conjectures. &nbsp\;In 
 joint work with Joel Moreira\, Florian Richter\, and Donald Robertson\, we
  prove some of these\, showing that any set of positive density contains a
  shift of a restricted sumset. The talk will be an overview of the methods
  and more recent developments.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;
