DESCRIPTION:I will discuss the current status of exotic spectroscopy (boun
 d states that do not fit the simple meson-baryon picture)\, with a focus o
 n candidates including charm quarks\, starting with the every growing list
  of observed states. I will then talk in more detail about a few recent me
 asurements from the LHCb collaboration before sharing a few thoughts of my
  own about possible future directions for the field to best understand the
  nature of these various puzzling states.
