DESCRIPTION:In 2002 Polterovich proved that groups with distorted elements
  do not act on symplectically hyperbolic manifolds by Hamiltonian diffeomo
 rphisms.&nbsp\; In 2011 Jarek Kędra and the speaker simplified the proof 
 using boundedness property of a certain cohomology class on the group of H
 amiltonian diffeomorphisms.&nbsp\; It took us about another ten years to r
 eformulate Pollterovich theorem as\nThe group of Hamiltonian diffeomorphis
 ms of a symplectically hyperbolicmanifold carries a metric which respect t
 o all elements are undistorted.\nIn the talk I will explain this boundedne
 ss property and discuss various situation it is useful.\n&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;
