DESCRIPTION:Scalar fields play an important role in cosmology and have att
racted a great deal of recent research interests. Their impact on the larg
e scale structure formation\, especially in models with a dark-matter-scal
ar-field coupling\, has been studied thoroughly in the linear regime. Howe
ver\, little is known about its behaviour in the nonlinear regime of struc
ture formation and in the literature its effect is often approximated to b
e a Yukawa-type fifth force or a rescaling of gravitational constant. Here
we report some recent pregress in this area\, in which we solve the spati
al configuration in a consistent manner\, without resorting to the above a
pproximations. This provides a new and quantitatively more accurate way fo
r the studies in scalar field cosmology.
