DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will reflect on global estimates of transmissio
 n intensity and short-term forecasts during the COVID-19 pandemic that we 
 created and put on a daily updated public dashboard. I will present challe
 nges we encountered in creating and maintaining this resource\, as well as
  impacts that it had on our and others' work as well as policy. I will use
  this to discuss implications for ongoing and future efforts to improve mo
