DESCRIPTION:This two-day symposium\, sponsored by the Leverhulme Trust\, D
 aiwa Foundation\, and the European Research Council\, will present the lat
 est advances on the transition to farming in the British Isles and the Jap
 anese archipelago as well as the key outputs of the ENCOUNTER project. A t
 otal of 19 speakers will discuss different aspects of this pivotal event\,
  covering aspects such as population genetics\, cultural transmission\, pa
 leoecology\, subsistence economy and paleodemography. The event will be bo
