DESCRIPTION:Where the Water Meets the Sky tells the inspiring story of 23
women from rural Zambia who are trained in filmmaking. This uplifting doc
umentary follows the courageous group as they produce a film about an issu
e that no one will discuss: the plight of young women orphaned by AIDS.\n\
nThe film features Penelope\, a young woman who shares her story on camera
and who has since received the Goldman Sachs-Fortune Global Women Leaders
award\, which recognises women who are making great strides in improving
their community. Penelope is a magnificent example to every community\, i
n every country of what an educated young woman of courage can achieve.\n\
nThe 60-minute film is a story of friendship\, courage and hope that reson
ates with young people internationally. Among the 23 young women who were
trained in filmmaking\, many were non-literate - demonstrating the power
of film for addressing complex and contentious issues.
