DESCRIPTION:Random interlacements model the behavior of random walks start
ing from infinity on a transient graph. We will explore the local uniquene
ss property of interlacements\, that is the existence of a unique local co
nnected component \, and discuss its implications regarding percolation fo
r random interlacements. We will also present applications of interlacemen
ts to the study of the capacity of random walks\, as well as to percolatio
n for the Gaussian free field on discrete graphs or on the cable system.
