DESCRIPTION:By simultaneously using multiple paths through the Internet\,
multipath\ntransport protocols have the potential to greatly improve perfo
rmance\,\nresilience and flexibility. Further\, by linking the congestion
\nbehavior of the subflows of a connection\, it is possible to move\ntraff
ic away from congested paths\, allowing network capacity to be\npooled and
better handling surges in traffic. We will build upon earlier\ntheoretic
al work by Kelly/Voice and Key/Massoulie/Towsley to examine\nhow to perfor
m such linkage in a window-based transport protocol\nsuch as multipath TCP
\, while still achieving fairness\nin a world of different RTTs.\n\nMultip
ath TCP has become of great interest to operating system vendors\nrecently
\, especially for use on smart phones where there is no single right\nansw
er as to which of several radio interfaces to use at any instance.\nThis w
ork is now in the early stages of standardization in the IETF.\n\nThis is
joint work with Damon Wischik and Costin Raiciu.\n
