DESCRIPTION:The Epoch of Reionisation describes the cosmic period in which
the Universe went from\nbeing dark and neutral\, to being transparent to
radiation. Understanding the first galaxies\nresponsible for lighting up t
he Universe is of utmost importance for unveiling the mysteries\nof this e
poch.\nIn this talk I will present work done through the use of deep NIRCa
m imaging from the\nJWST Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey (JADES) to stu
dy the evolution of the ionising\nphoton production efficiency\, ion\, wit
h redshift (3<z<9). When ξ observing Lyman-alpha\nemitters (LAEs) and emi
ssion-line galaxies (ELGs)\, we find that low-mass galaxies with\nbursy st
ar formation histories are more efficient in producing ionising radiation\
, and could\nrepresent the main drivers of reionisation. However\, we find
that the observed increase of\nξion with redshift depends on the nature
of the sample: the trends observed in LAEs and\nELGs are less significant
when a stellar-mass complete sample is used instead.\nBy combining these r
esults we find that galaxies are likely the main drivers of reionisation\,
\nand that there is no crisis in the cosmic ionising budget when a stellar
 -mass complete\nsample is considered.
