DESCRIPTION:Interacting quantum many-body systems are known to display ric
h and complex physical behaviors in different spatial and temporal scales.
Controlled understanding of them\, on the other hand\, only become acces
sible in the past decades through the conceptual development of energy-sca
le guided emergence. Rigorously based on the structure of quantum mechani
cs\, this talk will introduce the basic concept of emergence in quantum ma
 ny-body system with a few cases studies\, including 1) fractionalization o
f ionic spin in nickel-based superconductivity\, 2) inhibition and rekindl
ed superconductivity in graphene\, and 3) nematic superconductivity in tra
 nsition metal dichalcogenides.
