 r estimating neural timescales\n\n*Abstract:* Ongoing neural activity unfo
 lds across a wide range of timescales that are suggested to reflect the di
 versity of behavioral timescales. However\, to gain a holistic understandi
 ng of how neural timescales relate to behavior and cognitive function we n
 eed to develop analysis methods to precisely estimate neural timescales fr
 om limited data recorded during cognitive tasks. In this talk\, I will fir
 st give an overview of neural timescales and various findings relating the
 m to behavior. Then\, I will dive into different model-free and model-base
 d methods for estimating timescales. In particular\, I will present our re
 cent model-based Bayesian method that estimates timescales using generativ
 e models\, allowing for unbiased estimation of timescales from short exper
 imental recordings. Such methods based on generative models can be adopted
  for estimating timescales across different data modalities\, by incorpora
 ting various mechanistic assumptions and data features.\n\n*Bio:* Roxana Z
 eraati has a background in physics and biomedical engineering. She complet
 ed her PhD at the University of Tübingen working with Anna Levina and Tat
 iana Engel. Currently\, she is a postdoctoral researcher in Peter Dayan's
