DESCRIPTION:Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. A
s it is most frequently diagnosed at late stages\, our understanding of th
e factors driving early disease is limited. In my study\, I have developed
a novel model using genetically manipulated human lung cells. This model
is being used to identify the genetic changes necessary and sufficient to
drive the early changes observed in lung cancer. By uncovering these criti
cal pathways\, my aim is to identify potential targets for therapeutic int
 ervention.\n
