DESCRIPTION:This is a somewhat informal talk about the Strominger–Yau–
 Zaslow Conjecture\, which predicts the existence of special Lagrangrian to
 rus fibrations on the generic region of a family of Calabi–Yau manifolds
  near the large complex structure limit. The first part of the talk will f
 ocus on background and is pitched at a geometric analysis audience. We wil
 l aim to end with a sketch of the idea in the Fermat hypersurface case.
