DESCRIPTION:The search for life unites multiple disciplines: The Earth Sci
 ences look back in time to the history of life on Earth\; the planetary sc
 iences look across the solar system planets for the possibility of present
  or past life\; and with exoplanets we are now reaching beyond the solar s
 ystem\, to understand whether biology lies beneath the atmospheres of thes
 e distant worlds.  In this talk we will discuss the prospects within each 
 of these fields for finding life and how they are fundamentally linked in 
 this quest.
