DESCRIPTION:CUEN is delighted to welcome Dr Nick Baker to give a seminar e
 ntitled _People and Sustainability_. Nick will be talking about the impact
  of human behaviour and technical development on carbon emissions. A taste
 r from his talk:\n\n_It is often said that it is not buildings that use en
 ergy\, but rather the people in them. It is probably more accurate to say 
 that people cause buildings\, and other systems\, to use energy. And whils
 t we have developed an almost complete understanding of the physics of ene
 rgy flows in buildings\, and can model it with some precision\, we have a 
 very imperfect knowledge of the impact of human behaviour in causing the b
 uilding to use energy._\n\nPlease come along to listen to Nick talk about 
 the technical development of low-energy buildings\, why\, when finally in 
 use\, these return disappointing results\, and what needs to be done at th
 e interface between people and the building. There will be a chance to ask
