DESCRIPTION:A feature of LHC physics above the electroweak symmetry-breaki
ng scale\nis that particles with masses around this scale (e.g. W\,Z\,H\,t
op) can\nbe produced well above threshold. This means that in many importa
nt\nprocesses they have a considerable boost\, and if they decay to hadron
s\,\nthese hadrons appear in a single jet. Analysing the substructure of t
his\njet is a powerful method for identifying such events. After showing s
ome\nfirst relevant ATLAS results on jets and hadronic final states\, I wi
ll\ndescribe the subjet techniques and discuss their applications.\n
