 faces. In this talk\, we review classical Laplace results&mdash\;from Wolp
 ert&ndash\;Schoen&ndash\;Yau bounds to Otal&ndash\;Rosas estimates&mdash\;
  then discuss recent work extending this picture to Steklov eigenvalues on
  hyperbolic surfaces.
