DESCRIPTION:Deformation classes of fully-extended\, unitary\, invertible f
unctorial field theories model anomaly SPTs and are computable via techniq
ues in stable homotopy theory. We use these to study spontaneous symmetry
breaking by a charged order parameter. Our framework allows one to study a
nomaly matching from a bulk to a symmetry defect\, obstructions to forming
symmetry defects\, and higher Berry phases. I will discuss examples inclu
ding domain walls for Majorana fermions and the Thouless pump. This talk i
 s based on joint work with Debray\, Devalapurkar\, Liu\, Pacheco-Tallaj\,
 and Thorngren.
