SUMMARY:Requirement handling in medical equipment design - Balder Onarhei

DESCRIPTION:Requirements (or constraints\, needs\, corner flags\, frames\,
  limitations\, rules\, properties\, functions\, specifications\, guideline
s\, boundaries\, parameters etc.) are acknowledged to be an important elem
ent in design processes\, but while several writers are mentioning this in
their work seemingly little is done to look closer at how to handle requi
rements in engineering design. This talk discusses the nature of requireme
nts in engineering design through a case study performed at Danish Colopla
st A/S\, and the role requirements can play in different phases of an engi
neering design process and as a communicative tool between different profe
ssions.\n\n\nAbout the speaker:\n\nBalder Onarheim works as Researcher and
PhD Fellow at Copenhagen Business School in the EU FP 7 initial training
network "DESIRE - CREATIVE DESIGN for INNOVATION in SCIENCE and TECHNOLOG
Y". His educational background is Industrial design with minors in psychol
ogy\, management and entrepreneurship. The PhD project is focusing on cons
traints and requirements in engineering design\, investigating how learnin
gs from the requirement engineering literature can be applied to design of
  medical devices. \n
