DESCRIPTION:The Bayesian framework offers powerful advantages in modelling
complex data structures\, uncertainty quantification\, and incorporating
prior knowledge and expert opinion. However\, model development and implem
entation can be challenging for non-technical practitioners\, and implemen
tation of Bayesian models often requires extensive computation. In this ta
lk\, I will explore the role of Bayesian statistics in decision-making and
addressing societal challenges with examples from COVID-19 and neglected
 tropical diseases.
