SUMMARY:Tailoring multivalent interactions in the design of biomaterials -
Professor Kristi Kiick (Materials Science & Engineering\, University of D
 elaware)
DTSTART:20100421T100000Z

CONTACT:Catherine Jordan
DESCRIPTION:Multivalent interactions control many biological processes and
can be exploited in the design of materials selectively responsive to spe
cific cells. The use of recombinant methods for the production of such sca
ffolds has yielded functional polypeptide templates capable of forming mul
tiple morphologies and with potential applications ranging from drug deliv
 ery to device manufacture.
