The Political Ecology Research Group will be hosting a launch event for The New Routledge Handbook of Political Ecolog y on April 27th\, 5-6.30pm in The Manatee Room\, David Attenboro ugh Building. The Handbook is a landmark volume in the field\, and it char ts important new shifts in how political ecology is theorised and practise d.

0)\;">Dr Elia Apostolopoulou\, who will introduce the Handbo
ok to the audience. We will then have three discussants sharing their thou
ghts on the volume. First Professor Melissa Leach\, Executive Director of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative\, and me
mber of the Department of Anthropology\, will share her perspective. Melis
sa’s work has been influential in the field for many years\, and we are
excited to have her join us. We will then hear from Dr Victo
ria Maguire-Rajpaul\, Angia Ruskin\, an ECR whose work\, whi
ch engages strongly in decolonial and academic activist perspectives\, und
erlines many of the new directions the field is taking. Lastly\, we will b
e hearing from Dr Kapil Yadav\, Royal Holloway
. Kapil has contributed a chapter to the volume\, and will talk about his
experience as a young scholar in the field. We will then have an extended
audience discussion\, which all are encouraged to partake in!
