DESCRIPTION:Transport accounts for a quarter of the carbon emissions in th
e UK. Reducing emissions from transport is therefore essential to achieve
significant reductions in the UK's carbon emissions. However\, changing th
e established carbon-intense transport systems will require major shifts i
n technology\, infrastructure\, policy and behavioural patterns. In the 20
10 Cambridge Annual Energy Conference\, speakers from industry and academi
a come together to answer the big questions on transport\, such as: What m
ajor challenges will be faced in developing and implementing a truly susta
inable transport system?\n\nWhat current and future technologies could fea
sibly change transport on a large scale?\n\nHow will consumer behaviour ad
apt in response to such major changes?\n\nIn bringing together professiona
ls\, academics and students\, all with a common interest in sustainable tr
ansport\, this conference aims to inform\, inspire and facilitate interact
ion between the people whose diverse skills will play a role in this impor
tant area. The conference will be a one-day event on 22 June 2010\, includ
ing speaker sessions and discussion panels when delegates can put forward
questions. There will be opportunity for all attendees to network at the b
uffet lunch\, coffee breaks and wine reception included as part of the con
 ference. \n\nRegistration now open: http://www.cuen.org.uk/registration\n\
